Pitimbu is a sleepy fishing village with wonderful, hospitable people - perfect for adventurers and leisure seekers alike.
It is located on the quiet side of Paraiba, at the border with Pernambuco. Blessed with an exceptional climate, the year-round average temperature is 26°C (79°F).
The area has no records of 'natural' phenomena such as volcano eruptions, hurricanes or other extreme meteorological hazards, which makes it ideal for pursuing an easy, unflustered, truly relaxing lifestyle.
Established tourist destinations in the area are Tabatinga, Carapibus, Conde and Jacumã, about 20 minutes driving.
Whilst a perfect hideaway for those seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, Pitimbu is readily accessible via the nearby International Airport of Recife. There are daily regional and international connections from Europe and beyond.
Joao Pessoa, the regional capital of Paraiba, is located on the Paraiba river, and about 40 minutes easy driving from the Coconut Beach.
UN reports ranks it as the 2nd greenest city in the world (just after Paris).
Its roots go back to 16th century European settlers. This is clearly reflected in the vibrant local architecture, featuring many Dutch, Portuguese and French monuments, baroque churches and other relics.
Occasional forays into town, to satisfy any recurring urges to visit shopping centers, or other urban forms of entertainment, are easily achievable.
