Paraíba is the eastern-most state of Brazil and as close to Africa and Europe as it is possible to get in all of the Americas. Depending on the time of year, the time difference with Europe can be as little as 3 hours!
- The International Airport at Recife (about an hour away) offers many daily scheduled services to Europe and all over Brazil. Via São Paolo you can also access the rest of the world
- Both Recife and Natal are served by numerous low-cost charter flights
- Joao Pessoa Airport (40 minutes easy driving) is likely to become international in 2007
- The BR-101 inter-state highway, connecting the coastal states of Pernambuco, Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte, is being duplicated. Access to neighbouring states and the interior will be greater than ever
